Mini Penneys Haul

Welcome back! Or if you’re a new visitor then welcome and I hope you stick around!

With Winter fast approaching and the weather getting decidedly more yucky, I was on the lookout for some winter woollies to get me through. So I popped into Penneys and picked up a few bits – keep reading for details!

One of the things I’ve been on the look-out for the past few years is a decent winter skirt. Some of them are a bit too ‘knitted’ for my liking, so they cling to you too much. I found this lovely black and white check one with zip detail and immediately started planning an outfit around it – hence my next 2 purchases of thick black 200 denier tights and a pair of black low-heeled ankle boots! I think the skirt with the tights, boots and either a plain black or plain white long-sleeved top will look really nice (that’s the Christmas Day outfit sorted…!).

Now, unless you’ve been hibernating (which, let’s face it, is probably a good idea right now) then you’ll know capes are all the rage these days. They’re basically a first cousin of the good old Poncho, the main difference being Capes are open down the front. This one is reversible which is great for those of us who spill when we eat/drink creating different looks.

Lastly, I wanted a good cosy scarf. I have far too many of those flimsy light summer ones, and they just don’t cut it when there’s biting cold and lashing rain. This scarf is reversible too – it has black and white houndstooth on one side and navy, white and red check on the other. It’ll look great with a white or a navy chunky jumper (cue another shopping trip). I’ve had so many compliments on this scarf, and it’s quite wide so it doubles as a small Cape too. Can’t get enough of it!

Unfortunately, I lost the receipt for all of these before I could write up this post, but I think the skirt was €12, scarf was €9, cape was €20, boots were €19 and tights were €4. All bargains really!

So that’s me sorted – have you seen any other great Winter buys? Let me know what you think of these and what else you’d like to see from me.
