I find it really tough to buy for my other half, so I thought I’d put together some of my top picks for Christmas, hopefully you’ll find some inspiration for the man (or anyone!) in your life – I know I’d like some of these myself!
Tech Fans
The demand for the PlaystationVR headset is through the roof this year, and it’s sold out pretty much everywhere. It also has a hefty price tag of €399. While you’re searching for (and saving up for) one of these babies you could pick up one of the mobile phone VR headsets to keep himself quiet. There are lots of different variations of these available from different suppliers. This particular one is €26 from Littlewoods.

Smelly Sets
I know, I know! Gift Sets can be a bit “frowned upon” because it’s usually what Granny buys when she doesn’t know what else to get, and they stay under the bed until you run out of shower gel, so you use the one from the set only to realise it stinks of lavender or something medicinal… But there are actually some really nice sets out there that I think would actually be used happily. These two are particularly good brands and smell great. Ted Baker washbag set for €32.50, and Champney’s grooming kit for €20.00, both available in Boots.

For the Beer Lover
Have you ever been out for the night and he’s sipping on the latest Craft Beer, makes a face and says, “I could do better than that in my own kitchen!”..? Well, now he can. Put his talking to the test and get him a home brewing kit. This Brewbarrel kit is from Gifts.ie, is only €36.95, and takes just 1 week to brew.

Something for the office
This might be a no-go-area to some people (“Why did you get me something for work when I hate my job?!”) but there are great little novelty office gifts out there that might just brighten up someone’s day a little. We all know someone who needs one of these decision paperweights to help them through their working day (whether or not they pay attention to the response is another thing!). This one is €18.00 from UncommonGoods.com

Food Glorious Food
Crazy for Crackers? Silly for Sweets? Then a fancy food hamper is always going to go down well. You can get these from loads of different shops and online retailers, both Irish and abroad, but I liked this one from BasketsGalore.ie for €48.99.

So there are some of my favourites from trawling the shops and the internet for inspiration! Who else has a partner who is difficult to buy for? There’s nothing worse than the “I don’t need anything” response they always give! Let me know what your plans are in the comments, and as always thanks for reading.
