There has been SO much talk about stocking fillers this year, and the big question about the maximum price a stocking filler should cost. I think put whatever you want into a stocking, but brands shouldn’t be marketing items that are €100, €150, €200 as “stocking fillers”. I’ve chosen some items that I think would be great in a stocking, for all the family.
JEWELLERY
Tassel earrings are all the fashion at the moment, so a pair of statement tassel earrings would be appreciated in many a stocking on Christmas morning. My Shining Armour have a great selection, ranging from €10.00-€19.00.

If you’re looking for something a little different, Isonia have really pretty, delicate bracelets which you can get with various gemstones. They also do necklaces and earrings so you could pick up a nice little set.

When I was a child all I ever wanted was a Swatch watch! These are still as amazing as ever. The mens and ladies ranges are great, but the children’s range is just fabulous. Take your pick from €30.00.

HOMEWARES
Who doesn’t love a nice mug?! I can’t get enough of them. Moss Cottage have such a great range, from pretty, to pretty funny! The whole store is worth checking out, I could buy so much from there!

I have a little obsession with stationery too, I love buying notebooks for myself and for my friends. Hippenings stock fab Ban.do notebooks and diaries that would brighten up anyone’s desk.

Everyone is going crazy for a bit of Kate Spade at the moment and Cara Pharmacy has loads of the Kate Spade stationery bits to choose from. I want ALL of it!

Candles are such a great pressie cos they last so long. Brooke and Shoals is an Irish company and they do gorgeous candles for €22.00 in a range of scents. They also do gift sets from €23.00 as well as larger 3-wick candles if you want to splash out, for €46.00.

NOVELTY
There was all talk about Cards Against Humanity this year. It’s a US card game described as “despicable and awkward” which sounds like great fun to me! Pick up the UK edition for about £20 on Amazon and you can also get expansion packs so that the game won’t get boring if you play it a few times.

You can now get really funny “self-help” books geared towards adults, published by children’s book legends Ladybird. These will definitely give someone a laugh and they’re well worth it for €9.95 from The Gadget Store.

For the text / social media junkie in your life, let them transfer their emojis into the everyday with emoji stamp markers! You can get these in Debenhams for €8.95.

FURRY FRIENDS
You can’t forget your pet at Christmas and it’s getting more and more popular to get them a Christmas stocking! There are some great little pet gifts out there to choose from.
K9 Connectables have interactive toys for dogs that you can connect together, stuff with treats, and watch as your dog has the time of his life taking them apart to get the goodies! The toys start at €11.99 but they do a stocking bundle that has 3 of the toys together for €34.99.

Petstop has loads of toys and treats for all kinds of pets. I love their cat stocking with a little mouse, a sac toy and a ball, and it’s only €3.95! And if you want to go all-out go for the Super Roller Circuit for €27.95 that will keep your cat entertained for hours.

SOMETHING YUM
Last but certainly not least, you have to put something tasty into a stocking, it’s just the rule! 3 of my favourites are Loveheart sweets, Terry’s Chocolate Orange and Merryteaser bars.
You might have noticed I don’t have any stocking fillers that are very obviously for men in this, but it’s almost impossible to find anything that isn’t socks, aftershave or vouchers! What do you usually put in a stocking for the guys in your life? And what do you love to see in your own stocking on Christmas morning? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for reading,
Love Aoife X
