Welcome to my 2017 Christmas Gift Guides! Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be doing a series of posts with gift ideas for anyone and everyone this Christmas. Make sure you stay tuned for inspiration!
First up – make-up! There are so many fabulous brands out there at the moment which makes it really difficult to pick just a few as my recommendations, but I’ll give it a go.
NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKE-UP
I always think palettes that contain more than one type of product make a great gift. The NYX Professional Make-up limited edition ‘City’ sets contain lip, eye and face products so they’re great for taking with you when you’re travelling. There is a range of 11 ‘Cities’ to choose from with different colour themes, costing around €20.00 each. The colours are absolutely gorgeous. I have ‘Rome’ already but I’m eyeing up ‘Dublin’ next! You can get these online via Meaghers Pharmacy or Littlewoods, and in Boots stores.

POWDER ’N’ POUT MAKE-UP BRUSHES
Powder ’n’ Pout is an Irish make-up brush brand of fantastic quality brushes. Brushes can be purchased individually but for the make-up lover in your life you can buy them in sets. The ‘Eye Love It’ set is perfect for creating beautifully blended eye looks. It contains 3 brushes for smudging, blending and lining (P325, P310, P410) and is €22.00. The ‘Flawless Five’ set is great for doing a full face of make-up. It contains 5 brushes, from blush to liner (P210, P120, P325, P410, P245) and costs €50.00. I’m a big fan of this brand and you can read my review here. Check out the brushes in McCabes pharmacies or online at the Powder’n’Pout website.
LORD AND BERRY MAKE-UP
I hadn’t heard of Lord and Berry until recently when I was gifted a blush and a bronzer to try out and I’m very impressed with what I’ve seen so far. A little goes a long way with this product and you can build up the colour to create different looks. The blush and bronzer are €29.00 each. I’d recommend taking a look at their website as they have lots of gorgeous eye and lip products too which would make lovely gifts. Some of the range is available in Boots too.

REAL TECHNIQUES MAKE-UP BRUSHES
I’ve been a fan of the Real Techniques brushes by the Pixiwoo sisters for years. They have a huge range of individual brushes and sets and they seem to have a new release every few months. If you’re looking for a nice simple set as a gift for someone you can’t go wrong with their Core Collection at €29.99 for 4 brushes (contour, foundation, detailer, buffing) to satisfy your inner make-up artist. Check out Boots, Littlewoods and Sam McCauley chemists for the range.

W7 COSMETICS
W7 is a great brand, their products are very good quality and quite affordable. But what’s even better is that they have brought out a Vegan range of products, ‘Very Vegan. Not just a couple of items, but a decent range – mascara, eye palettes, lipsticks, blushes. These would make a great gift for any make-up fan. I love the packaging on these products too. Prices start at €6.95. You’ll find W7 in Cara pharmacies and Pulse Accessories stores.

I hope this guide has given you some food for thought! Keep your eyes peeled for the next instalments – there’s skincare, gifts for the guys, stocking fillers, and more!
